Federal Procurement Consolidation
The Administration is leading a critical government-wide effort to modernize federal procurement, which includes the consolidation of government-wide spending for domestic common goods and services. We are pleased to invite you to the official kickoff training for this initiative.
This effort, in support of Executive Order 14240 and OMB Memo M-25-31, is designed to drive significant savings, boost efficiency, eliminate duplication, and strengthen mission-critical contracting support across all agencies.
The kickoff training will provide a deep dive into the two foundational workstreams:
Workstream 1: Consolidated Contracts
Focuses on maximizing efficiency by aligning with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Revolutionary Overhaul, where agencies’ default is to use GSA government-wide contracts and shared services first (e.g., GO.gov, Fleet, Global Supply, GWAC, MAS, etc.).
Training will cover streamlined ordering processes, reducing time on market research, and maintaining agency control/flexibility.
Workstream 2: Centralized Acquisition
This voluntary track offers agencies a full range of additional acquisition support through GSA-led contracting services.
The training will detail the two available services:
Office of Centralized Acquisition Services (OCAS) for common goods and services
Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) for complex, critical acquisitions.

From Insight to Prototype: A Product Design Framework that De-Risks Biotech & MedTech Innovation
Paul Klock, Design Director, and Alex Kober, President - KEK Design
Turning a promising scientific insight into a viable product requires more than engineering—it demands rigorous product design, clarity of user need, and fast, iterative learning. This session presents a product-design-led development framework that integrates early user research, rapid prototyping, and structured assumption testing to systematically reduce project risk. Learn how to translate informal ideas into formal design requirements, how to run fast prototyping loops that reveal feasibility constraints early, and how user-centered evaluations can prevent expensive late-stage changes. We’ll show how product design decisions about form, interaction, materials, and ergonomics are driven by user needs and technical feasibility and how aligning these early dramatically improves downstream outcomes.

This session explores proven models for designing and scaling innovation programs that empower researchers, improve technology transfer outcomes, and strengthen mission alignment. Drawing from FedTech’s experience leading intrapreneurship and commercialization accelerators across defense and civilian agencies, participants will gain a framework to build impactful, sustainable programs that shift lab culture toward innovation and engagement.
Participants will leave with:
A roadmap to design and implement lab innovation programs
Templates and examples for researcher engagement frameworks
Lessons from federal labs that have launched successful intrapreneurship initiatives
Practical guidance on aligning innovation efforts with lab missions

The discussion focuses on control reuse, documentation alignment, and governance strategies that reduce duplication while maintaining defensible compliance across regimes.
Topics include:
Common control and documentation overlaps between CMMC and other frameworks
Key differences in scope, assessment rigor, and enforcement
Strategies for harmonizing policies, controls, and evidence
Avoiding siloed compliance efforts that increase cost and risk

Building and maintaining high-quality SSPs and POA&Ms
Creating documentation that reflects real operations, not aspirational intent
Establishing clear linkage between requirements, controls, and evidence
Avoiding common documentation gaps that trigger findings or rework

CMMC and Overlap with Existing DFARS Requirements
his session explains how CMMC 2.0 intersects with existing DFARS cybersecurity requirements, and what that overlap means in practice for defense contractors.
Participants will examine how CMMC builds on DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171 rather than replacing them, including where requirements are truly identical, where expectations have been clarified, and where enforcement is materially changing. The discussion helps separate what organizations may already have in place from what still requires remediation or stronger evidence.
Topics include:
The relationship between DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC
Which existing controls and documentation can be leveraged
Where CMMC raises the bar through assessment and validation
Common misconceptions that lead to overconfidence or gaps
The Importance of JCP Certification in Defense Contracting
Join us as we go over the importance of JCP Certification in defense contracting. The JCP was established in 1985 to allow United States (U.S.)/Canadian contractors to apply for access to Department of Defense/Department of National Defense (DOD/DND) unclassified export controlled technical data/critical technology on an equally favorable basis in accordance with DODD 5230.25, “Withholding of Unclassified Technical Data and Technology from Public Disclosure,” and Canadian Technical Data Control Regulations.
We will learn about JCP requirements and application process along with DEV (DLA Enhanced Validation) – formerly EJCP.
Planning and Implementing for CMMC 2.0 Level 2
CMMC 2.0 Level 2 is no longer theoretical — it is operational reality for thousands of Defense Industrial Base companies handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The organizations that approach it strategically will protect margin, preserve eligibility, and strengthen long-term resilience. Those that do not will face costly, rushed remediation under contract pressure.
In this session, we break down how to move from awareness to execution.
Aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and DFARS requirements, we walk through a structured approach to:
Define scope and identify CUI flows
Conduct a defensible gap assessment
Prioritize remediation activities
Build policies, controls, and evidence in parallel
Establish an audit-ready System Security Plan (SSP) and POA&M
Prepare for third-party assessment when required
